Grogu teases the return of Star Wars to cinemas during the Super Bowl: trailer

An adorable new video from The Mandalorian & Grogu further plays on our love for Baby Yoda…

Did Baby Yoda take over the 2026 Super Bowl?

In any case, Lucasfilm has revealed a new preview of The Mandalorian & Groguthe latest installment in the Star Wars universe. No long reveal trailer, but a short teaser, which gives fans a moment with the armored bounty hunter played by Pedro Pascal and his faithful companion Grogu in this cinematic adventure that promises to be fun and adorable.

The video focuses everything on Baby Yoda and indeed shows Mando and Grogu on a very snowy planet, traveling in a cart pulled by Tauntauns. A priori, they are indeed on Hoth, the icy planet of Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

The story still takes place after the fall of the Empire, a few years later Return of the Jedi in the wake of Episode VI.

The synopsis details: “The Evil Empire has fallen, but its Imperial warlords remain scattered across the galaxy. As the New Republic attempts to protect the legacy of the Rebellion, it calls upon legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.”.

The film marks the return of Star Wars to the big screen and the trailer really promises a fun, standalone adventure in George Lucas’s Galaxy, leaving the larger mythology aside. The next opus, Star Wars: Starfightersigned Shawn Levy and expected for May 2027, with Ryan Gosling, Amy Adams, Matt Smith and Mia Goth, will also be in this vein.

Until then, The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released in cinemas on May 20, 2026 in France.
