Ryan Coogler’s X-Files reboot pilot officially ordered
Danielle Deadwyler will be the new heroine of the series.
The first episode of the new version of the legendary saga The X-Files is officially ordered! The Hulu platform gave the green light to Ryan Coogler, who revealed it during a podcast (via World of Reel).
Si Coogler has been chosen to write and direct the pilot, while Jennifer Yale (The Copenhagen Test) will serve as showrunner. Danielle Deadwyler (Emmett Till) will be one of the two stars of the series, and we are now waiting to know who her partner will be. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson formed the iconic duo of the original series.
As a reminder, the cult series from the 90s featured two FBI agents, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, experts in their field but totally opposites. Assigned to a special unit that investigates strange and unexplained phenomena – monsters, supernatural events, extraterrestrial conspiracies – the two agents will develop an unexpected bond.

Over the years, the series initially created by Chris Carter has won numerous awards including the Golden Globes for best drama series in 1995, 1997 and 1998.
A major challenge that the very enthusiastic director seems ready to take on: “I’ve been excited about this for a long time, and yes, if we don’t screw it up, some of the episodes might freak people out.”
