Stranger Things 5: the Duffer brothers announce a “very intense” Volume 2
Revealing the titles of the next three episodes, they assure that the conclusion of episode 7 will be tough and that the six days of waiting until the big finale will seem endless…
Stranger Things fans, prepare yourselves: the road to the end of the series will be dark. Very dark.
Ross Duffer, co-creator of the Netflix phenomenon series, posted a message on the networks to tease Volume 2 of the fifth and final season, now completely finished. He took the opportunity to give an overview of episodes 5, 6 and 7, expected for December 26 in France (at 2 a.m.).
He reveals the titles and increases the pressure:
Episode 5, titled “Shock Jock,” picks up “moments after the end of ‘Sorcerer’ (episode 4), he writes. “Frank Darabont is back to direct, but he’s flexing very different muscles here than in ‘Turnbow Trap’: it’s much darker, and much scarier.”
Episode 6 is called “Escape From Camazotz” and is by Shawn Levy. “It’s the biggest episode of the three — and the performances make us cry every time we watch it,” Ross says, suggesting a dramatic moment (a death?).
Finally, episode 7, “The Bridge…”, is co-directed by Ross, his brother Matt Duffer, and Levy. “I don’t want to give too much away, but outside of the very last episode, this is probably the most emotional chapter of the season.”
The showrunner promises that episode lengths will be revealed soon.
And he concludes by promising: “The six-day wait before the big finale will seem very, very long to you…”.
Understand: episode 7 ends on a terrible cliffhanger that will hurt.
The final episode 8 of Stranger Things will be posted online on January 1, 2026 in France on Netflix (at 2 a.m.).
