Godzilla Minus Zero: the kaiju marches on New York in the trailer
The sequel to Godzilla Minus One takes place two years later, and obviously the little guy wanted to travel to the United States.
Big success of 2023 (nearly 114 million dollars earned for 15 million budget, not bad) and winner of the Oscar for best visual effects, Godzilla Minus One will soon be entitled to a sequel, Godzilla Minus Zeo. The Japanese Takashi Yamazaki is still behind the camera and the story takes place two years later, in 1949. Kōichi Shikishima (Ryūnosuke Kamiki), survivor of the first film, will still be there. The trailer contains some pretty sublime shots, including a pilot caught in Godzilla’s breath, amid piles of debris.
Nothing is known about the storyline, but the trailer clearly shows the King of the Monsters next to the Statue of Liberty. A trip to New York which promises a lot of damage, especially since the budget has been increased compared to Minus One (which was a feat with so little money at his disposal).
Godzilla Minus Zero will be in theaters in November in Japan and the United States, but does not yet have a date here. Let’s hope that it will be entitled to a classic and not limited release, as was the case with Minus One.
