ACID unveils its colorful program for Cannes 2026

The association of independent filmmakers will present 9 new films on the Croisette.

A committee of 13 filmmakers, 650 films viewed… For its 2026 edition, ACID has selected 9 directors with unique and varied universes.

Created in 1992, the association highlights independent cinema which sometimes struggles to find a place in the cinematic landscape. If the ACID is present throughout the year, the Cannes Film Festival remains its greatest lever of visibility…

Presenting films often without a distributor, the most prestigious cinema event allows emerging filmmakers to defend their projects through full exposure. On the benches of the committee of this 34th edition, we find the director Martin Jauvat who released last January the crazy comedy City fuck with Emmanuelle Bercot, William Lebghil and Anaïde Rozam. At his side, the Chilean director Pamela Varela (The Great Escape), the French director Sylvain George at the origin of the trilogy Dark night or the documentary filmmaker Hélène Milano (Black Roses, Red Castle).

The films presented are all films that bring us together, stories anchored in a poetic, joyful, unexpected but above all free, and unformatted reality. They then appear as powerful gestures of resistance – and hope”, declares the association.

Feature films about adolescent nostalgia like Barca Zouon the psychological influence with Bad Staror even on mourning and transidentity like secret heart.

Among these nine films, the animated film Blaise by Dimitri Planchon and Jean-Paul Guigue, notably with the voice of Léa Drucker, awarded the César for best actress for her role in Dominik Moll’s feature film, File 137. This is the first feature film from this director duo.
