The very first news from Angoulême 2026
Franck Dubosc will chair the jury of the 19th edition of the French-speaking film festival which will celebrate Cambodian cinema and pay special tribute to Nathalie Baye
The 19th edition of the Angoulême French-speaking film festival – of which Première is a partner – will be held from August 24 to 29. But at the end of May, its general delegates Marie-France Brière and Dominique Besnehard began to reveal its outlines. They thus chose Franck Dubosc to succeed Diane Kruger at the head of the jury responsible for awarding the Valois d’Or and finding a successor to the Children are fine by Nathan Ambrosioni, big winner in 2025.
As for the invited countries, a spotlight will be placed on Cambodia with a program of around ten films.
And the 2026 festival will also pay a vast tribute to the woman who was one of its great faithful: Nathalie Baye, President of the jury in 2010, who came two years ago to celebrate Alain Delon, shortly after his death, with a very moving screening of Our story by Bertrand Blier, whose poster they shared. The festival will highlight half a dozen lesser-known films from its rich filmography, including Mon fils à moi by Martial Fougeron (2007). And to find out the film schedule, see you on July 8!
