Impressive new trailer for The Hunger Games: Harvest Sunrise
Haymitch Abernathy enters the arena. The new video reveals the terrible 50th Hunger Games, which will forever transform the destiny of Katniss Everdeen’s future mentor.
Before Katniss, there was Haymitch. And before becoming the sarcastic and disillusioned mentor we know, the young man also had to survive the Hunger Games.
The new trailer for Hunger Games: Sunrise over the Harvest takes us 24 years before the events of the original saga, when Haymitch Abernathy is only 16 years old. Drawn to participate in the Games, he discovers an arena designed for the second Quarter Century, an even deadlier edition of the competition organized by the Capitol.
The trailer reveals Haymitch who tries to ally with other tributes to resist the power of President Snow. But in the arena, alliances are fragile and every decision can be fatal. Several of his companions are thus eliminated over the course of the events, while the young man gradually understands that the Games are perhaps the only place where he can directly attack the system. As the trailer progresses, Haymitch appears willing to take any risks to turn the Hunger Games against those who control them. A decision which will have considerable consequences and contribute to giving rise to the rebellion which will change the destiny of Panem.
Australian actor, Joseph Zada, featured in the teen series We liars, succeeds Woody Harrelson in the role of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark’s future mentor.
Adapted from the latest novel by Suzanne Collins, the story takes place 24 years before the events of the main saga, on the morning of the Harvest of the 50th Hunger Games, also called the Second Atonement (Second Quarter Quell). This famous edition will see Haymitch be selected to participate in the Games, an event which will have a lasting impact on his destiny.
Elle Fanning will star alongside Zada in the role of young Effie Trinket and Kieran Culkin as young Caesar Flickerman, the host of the games. And then Jesse Plemons will play a young Plutarch Heavensbee and Glenn Close will be Drusilla Sickle (the head of District 12), as well as Mckenna Grace (Maysilee Donner) and Maya Hawke (a young Wiress) from Stranger Things…
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film is written by Billy Ray and produced by Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, alongside the director.
Hunger Games: Sunrise over the Harvest will be released in theaters on November 18 in France.
