After Seven, David Fincher will re-release Fight Club in 4K

For its 25th anniversary, the film starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton will get a facelift.

This is what the cryptic message posted on the official Insta account of Fight Club for the 25th anniversary of the film. “Maybe it’s time to talk about it…”we could read last October 15 under a shocking visual of a rotten tooth pulled out, with almost the entire team in hashtags, from director David Fincher to the author of the novel Chuck Palahniuk via the stars Brad Pitt and Edward Norton , and even the film’s main character, Tyler Durden.

In 1999, Brad Pitt and Edward Norton dared to talk about Fight Club in Première

New Regency and 20th Century Studios have just announced that David Fincher is overseeing a 4K remastered version of Fight Club. This edition should be released soon in Ultra HD, accompanied by a “art books” via a partnership with Insight Editions. The studio promises “never-before-seen visuals, exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes content.”

Will this edition become as cult as the DVD box set from the 1990s, with its famous booklet filled with contradictory opinions on the film? Upon its release, Fight Club had in fact been decried by some of the criticsand David Fincher subsequently used the most devastating opinions to accompany the release of his film in physical media!

This 4K remastering in any case follows that of Sevenwhich he also supervised and which allowed him to retouch tiny “errors”. Known as a perfectionist, Fincher should logically do the same with Fight Cluboffering a “youthful look” to his film via work on its light, its calibration…
