Anya Taylor-Joy is back in a new series: trailer

After The Gorge, the Queen’s Gambit actress remains on Apple to play Lucky.

New streaming game for Anya Taylor-Joy.

Six years after Queen’s Game on Netflix, the actress returns in a new mini-series on Apple TV called Lucky, in seven episodes to watch this summer.

The project adapts the best-selling book Lucky by Marissa Stapley. Anya Taylor-Joy therefore plays the title role, Lucky, a scammer with toxic charm, while Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (seen in King Richard) plays FBI agent Billie Rand, who is on her trail.

According to the official pitch, it all starts when “a multi-million dollar heist goes wrong”: Lucky is forced to go on the run, hunted by both the FBI and a particularly ruthless crime boss. She then has only one option: “fight to survive and find a way out”.

Unveiled Tuesday, the first teaser (below) sets the tone: Lucky in full spiral, haunted by “a series of bad decisions” accumulated over time. And above all, a cocktail of nervous action: high-speed chases, overturned cars… and a small dose of arson, just to build up the pressure.

The cast will also bring together Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins Jr. and William Fichtner.

Lucky will be released on Wednesday, July 15 on Apple TV.
