Benicio del Toro vs. Margot Robbie in Ocean’s Eleven prequel?
The Traffic and Sicario actor is in advanced discussions to join the cast.
The world of cinema’s most stylish robbers will make room for new stars.
The prequel to Ocean’s Elevenworn by Margot Robbie, has just found its big villain: Benicio del Toro, has entered into negotiations with Warner Bros. to play the main antagonist of the film, reports Nexus Point News. He has not yet signed, but the Spanish-American actor, formidable in the latest Wes Anderson, would make a charismatic antagonist, to face Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper, who should play the parents of Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock).
The story of the film is still a secret, so we don’t know if he would play a casino boss like Andy Garcia, or a simple bank manager…
Directed by Lee Isaac Chung (Minari, Twisters), the film will take place in Europe in the 1960s and will tell the origins of the legendary team of robbers popularized by Steven Soderbergh in the early 2000s. Production, signed LuckyChap – Margot Robbie’s company – is due to start in 2026.
The saga Ocean’s should then continue with a new film led by Clooney, which would be called Ocean’s 14, already in pre-production.
