Carrie: the new trailer says a lot about Mike Flanagan’s version

Half a century after Brian de Palma, series creator and director Mike Flanagan signs a new adaptation of Carrie.
The brand new trailer lifts the veil on this gripping and contemporary new adaptation of Stephen King’s cult story. She gives an overview of how the series “enriches its universe and brings more complexity to its iconic characters, while exploring the forces that shape Carrie White (Summer H. Howell), confronted with the cruelty and pressures of today’s world. A trajectory that will lead her to a night that changes everything. But what do we really know about Carrie… and what happened to Chamberlain?”
Summer H. Howell plays the title role of Carrie White; she was chosen after a vast casting of nearly 1,500 actresses. The cast also brings together Samantha Sloyan (The Pitt) as Margaret White, Siena Agudong (Resident Evil) as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton (Fire Country) as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette (My Life with the Walter Boys) as Tommy Ross, Josie Totah (The Buccaneers) as Tina, Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) as Billy, Thalia Dudek (The Running Man) as Emaline, Amber Midthunder (Prey) as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard (Man of Tomorrow) as Principal Grayle.
The cast of Carrie also brings together several loyal collaborators of Mike Flanagan, as well as newcomers to his universe. Recurring guests include Michael Trucco (Fire Country), Crystal Balint (The Fall of the House of Usher), Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House)…
Carrie is written and produced by Mike Flanagan (Midnight Sermons, The Haunting of Hill House), who also serves as showrunner. He directs episodes 1, 2, 7 and 8, while episodes 3, 4, 5 and 6 are respectively directed by Kate Siegel, Axelle Carolyn, Kyra Sedgwick and Hiromi Kamata. Stephen King is also executive producer of the series.
All eight episodes of Carrie will be available on Wednesday October 7, 2026 on Prime Video.
