Christopher Nolan himself wrote the end credits song for The Odyssey

After a 30-year career, the director and screenwriter became a lyricist for Travis Scott.

We thought we knew every facet of Christopher Nolan.

After revolutionizing cinema with Memento, The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar or even Oppenheimerthe British filmmaker offers himself an unexpected first: that of lyricist.

Indeed, the director participated in the writing of “When I’m Home”, the original song which accompanies the end credits of The Odysseyas ScreenRant reveals. A first in almost thirty years of career.

The song is performed by Travis Scott, Ludwig Göransson and James Blake. All four artists… as well as Christopher Nolan himself are credited as co-authors of the lyrics. Musical production is provided by Göransson and Blake.

The information was first revealed by actor John Leguizamo, who plays Eumaeus in the film. Referring to the participation of Travis Scott, he confirmed that Christopher Nolan was also among the authors of the lyrics. Universal Pictures then officially validated these credits.

This collaboration doesn’t stop at music. Travis Scott also appears on screen in The Odysseywhere he plays a bard charged with reciting verses dedicated to the Trojan War. The name of his character has not yet been revealed.

Note above all that Nolan also wrote history by signing the first feature film entirely shot with the new IMAX 70 mm cameras.

In France, The Odyssey is expected in cinemas on July 15.
