Clayface: the DC Universe horror film unveils its trailer

The third film in James Gunn’s new franchise will be released just before Halloween in our theaters.

It’s a little detour into the horror that James Gunn’s DC Universe will take.

Clayfaceproduced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures, will be the third film in the franchise after Superman And Supergirland promises to explore a very different genre. Mike Flanagan – creator of hit horror series like The Haunting of Hill House – wrote the script, directed by James Watkins.

And it’s Tom Rhys Harries, Welsh actor seen in The Gentlemen by Guy Ritchie, who will take on the role of Batman’s famous enemy.

Because Clayface takes place in Gotham City. Moreover, the trailer (see below) multiplies the winks. We notably see a GCPD car, as well as a shot which refers to Amusement Mile, an emblematic place in the DC universe often associated with the Joker. This does not necessarily mean that the Joker will appear in the film, any more than Batman, since no actor has yet been announced to play the Dark Knight in the DCU.

So what will we talk about? Clayface ?

In this teaser trailer, we discover the suffering of a man lying on a hospital bed, his face bandaged, who ends up irreparably deformed like clay. The birth of Clayface.

The official synopsis: “Clayface chronicles the terrifying descent of a man from a rising Hollywood star to a monster hungry for revenge, in a story exploring the loss of identity and humanity, corrosive love and the excesses of scientific ambition.”

Naomi Ackie, Max Minghella, Eddie Marsan, David Dencik, Nancy Carroll and Joshua James complete the cast.

Clayface will be released in cinemas on October 21 in France.
