Lady Whistledown is back. The mischievous bee with the sharp feather slips once again between the walls, on the lookout for the juiciest scandals tarnishing the reputation of the families of the high English aristocracy. With these new images, Shonda Rhimes plunges us back into this universe of feathers, lace and diamonds, utopia british rococo as possible.
Taking up the narrative springs of the first season, which saw Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Duke Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page) maneuver together to find a good match for the young woman, before falling in love, this season 3 focuses on the awkward understanding of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). With the Bridgertons, series based on the novels of Julia Quinn, Netflix has found a recipe that works and that the platform is not ready to let go. A sensation confirmed by the return of iconic characters from the second season, Anthony and (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
A welcome innovation all the same: the exploration of the character of Penelope who, apart from the couple in the making that she forms with Colin, gives the impression of experiencing a real emancipation, which would enter into the feminist subtext of the series , sometimes a little forgotten by its creators.
