Dakota Johnson doesn’t understand why a line from Madame Web is causing a buzz
“But, isn’t any sentence taken out of context… out of context?”
“He was in the Amazon with my mother when she was researching spiders, just before she died.”
Interviewed by the HuffPost on the occasion of the promotion of Madame Webthe actress Dakota Johnson is confronted with the phenomenon of buzz and memes. When the journalist asks her if she is aware that this line from the trailer has gone viral, the actress remains completely unmoved, not understanding why this line of dialogue has caused so much buzz on the internet.
A little context is necessary: the sentence in question refers to the link between the character of Tahar Rahim and the mother of the character of Dakota Johnson.
“Sounds like a classic line to me”, she begins to highlight the fact that this quote has absolutely nothing extraordinary in her opinion that could explain its buzz. The journalist gives the following hypothesis: “I think it went viral, because out of context, people were like: ‘What does it mean ?'”
