Dark Matter: season 2 reveals its first photos and a date

Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly will resume their travels between dimensions.

Realities collide again. And Dark Matter is about to plunge back into the metaphysical void.

Apple TV has revealed the first images of season 2 of the science fiction series led by Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly, while confirming its launch date. This new burst of 10 episodes will begin on Friday August 28, with a new episode each week until October 20.

Adapted from the novel by Blake Crouch, the series also brings together Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, Oakes Fegley and Amanda Brugel. A solid cast for a story that plays with nerves… and dimensions.

The story of season 2 is revealed:

“In season 1, Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), a physicist, professor and father, was kidnapped in the middle of the night, while walking home through the streets of Chicago, and thrown into an alternative version of his life. The wonder quickly turns into a nightmare when he tries to return to reality, then immersed in the hallucinatory landscape of the lives he could have lived. In season 2, the Dessens return to a serene life in a world that finally seems safe, before having to flee again in the face of the unthinkable. While Jason becomes more and more obsessed with the Box, Daniela (Jennifer Connelly) descends into paranoia, threatening to shake up their already fragile balance. For their part, Amanda (Alice Braga) and Ryan (Jimmi Simpson) join forces in a desperate attempt to return home, while Blair (Amanda Brugel) is determined to stop them. Okeniyi) relentlessly pursues his ambitious vision of a perfect world.”

Still piloted by Blake Crouch, who combines the roles of creator, showrunner and screenwriter, the series is produced by Sony Pictures Television.

Alongside him, Matt Tolmach, Richard Lederer and Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry – the latter having co-written all of the episodes of season 2 – are executive producing.
