Denzel Washington accepted Gladiator 2 because “few films” interest him today
The 69-year-old actor says Ridley Scott is one of the few filmmakers who still inspires him.
He will play Macrinus in the next Gladiator II. Denzel Washington is rare in the cinema these days, but for Ridley Scottthe 69-year-old actor agreed to don a toga. And he admits to Empire Magazine that he doesn’t accept much anymore:
“There are very few films left that interest me today. Frankly, I have to be inspired by the filmmaker to go for it. And I’ve been hugely inspired by Ridley in my life. We had a great experience the first time we worked together and so here we go again!”
