Filming for season 2 of Peacemaker finally begins

John Cena and James Gunn posted a photo to announce the start of filming for the new season.

He goes on a mission again. Finally. Two years after the end of season 1, Peacemaker has just started filming its season 2. The creator and director James Gunn posted a photo on Instagram showing the famous helmet. “Season 2, Day 1” he wrote in the comments.

John Cena posted (below) a photo to confirm his presence on set, like his comrades Jennifer Holland (in the role of Harcourt) and Steve Agee (in the role of Economos).

It must be remembered that Peacemaker was renewed for its season 2 in February 2022. Since then, James Gunn dedicated himself to Superman: Legacy, the first feature film in its new DC universe. Besides, if Gunn were to write and direct every episode of season 2 of Peacemakerhe recently changed his plans due to his commitment to the feature film: “I won't be able to achieve everything, just a few”, he recently confirmed.

So what is the release date for season 2 of Peacemaker ?

James Gunn revealed on the networks that it will only be released after the film Supermanscheduled for July 2025. Integrated into the new DCU, this new season will therefore be broadcast towards the end of 2025, on the Max platform.
