First Cesar nomination for Franck Dubosc
A year after his (already cult) Césario sketch, the comedian is featured in Un Ours dans le Jura.
It was one of the great moments of the 2025 César ceremony. Last year, Franck Dubosc took to the stage of L’Olympia to receive the César for “those who are never nominated for the Césars”. A “Cesario”, he said, which made Julia Roberts laugh.
A sketch that the comedian will not be able to repeat, since this year, Franck Dubosc is nominated! The star of Camping is not cited as Best Actor, but he will be in the running in the Best Original Screenplay category (with Sarah Kaminsky) for his excellent frosty thriller, A Bear in the Jura.
This will be his very first nomination for the César and his presence at the 51st ceremony will certainly not go unnoticed. He will compete with Dominik Moll and Gilles Marchand for File 137; Pauline Loquès for Nino; Holly Gent and Vince Palmo for New wave and above all the Palme d’Or: Jafar Panahi for A simple accident.
In a recent interview with Première, Franck Dubosc said he thinks “a little” about the Césars.
“My film is eligible, but like all films. When I looked at the list, I saw that there were a lot of really good films that checked all the boxes – and way better than mine. I think we might be 7th or 8th with a Bear. Which is already good. Very honestly: even if I were nominated, I know that I would not make it to the end of the race. So that would be half reward. And I promise you: that’s not really my goal. If one day I have a Caesar, I will be happy… but five minutes. Time to go on stage. “
Franck Dubosc is currently filming a new film, 5:48 a.m. Martyrs Squarewhich will take place in Le Havre. “We will follow the story of an early morning bus driver who decides to take his passengers hostage… but by warning them, by asking them for their opinion“, he explained to us before specifying that it will not really be a comedy: “Not a black comedy this time, but rather a dramatic film into which I will inject a little comedy. And which, I hope, will make people laugh and cry. Once again, it will be a serious theme, with – a little – comedy.” For a second nomination for the César in 2027?
In the meantime, the 2026 Césars will take place on February 26, 2026, live and unencrypted on Canal +.
