Glen Powell almost played in Glee
Very friend with Chord Overstreet, he also interviewed for the role of Sam Evans.
Long before becoming one of the new Hollywood stars, thanks to Twisters and Anyone Buy You, Glen Powell almost pushed the song and joined the New Direction band.
The actor revealed this week (see below) that he had auditioned for the role of Sam Evans in Glee, the famous musical of Fox, alongside his nearby friend, Chord Overstreet. The role, of course, finally returned to Overstreet.
“One of my best friends in the world is Chord Overstreet,” said Powell to the Podcast Therapuss. “We both auditioned for Glee, for the same role, and we were in the waiting room at the same time because we had been friends for a long time.” Finally, Overstreet won the role, but the two stayed close, Powell saying: “There is still one of my best friends.”
Powell followed the ascent of his friend closely, especially since the two moved together while Chord Overstreet became a show of the show. “It was crazy to be there when he lived this incredible experience, on the largest series in the world.”
Broadcast between 2009 and 2015, Glee revealed many young talents and made Overstreet a face known to the general public from season 2.
As for Glen Powell, he will soon be entitled to his TV series, with the sports comedy Chad Powers on Disney Plus, from September 30.
