One of the last good disaster films will continue. What happens after the comet?
In 2020, a comet crashed into Earth, causing an unprecedented cataclysm. John Garrity was one of the lucky ones, chosen to survive in a refuge in Greenland with his family in order to prolong humanity… And then? Greenland 2 is on its way and will soon launch production.
This sequel will be called Greenland: Migration and will begin filming in April 2024 in the United Kingdom, announces Deadline, which specifies that Gerard Butler And Morena Baccarin will be back in the cast and that the director Roman Waugh will once again be at the helm, on a script by Chris Sparling and Mitchell Lafortune.
“The Garrity family must leave the safety of the Greenland bunker after Comet “Clarke” decimates the Earth. The family embarks on a harrowing journey across the wastelands of Europe to find a new home”teases the synopsis.
Initially intended for theaters, Greenland had been postponed several times by the COVID-19 pandemic and was finally released digitally. But even on video on demand, it grossed $52.3 million worldwide!
