“I was excited to do it”: Lily-Rose Depp takes on sex and nudity in The Idol
The actress explains why she agreed to do the Sam Levinson series. “I’ve never felt more respected and safer on set.”
She did not hesitate to get naked for Sam Levinson. Lily Rose Depp totally assumes the sulphurous sequences of The Idolwhich are part of the series and the intentions of the director.
She explains in Vogue Australia that it was all a “great collaboration from start to finish. This character, this series, this story… We know we’re doing something provocative and we’re not shy about going all out. I knew I wanted to do this from the start . I’ve never been interested in Puritan things. It’s okay if this series isn’t for everyone. That’s fine. Because I believe that art should be divisive!”
Lily Rose Depp goes even further and reassures those who feel uncomfortable for her while watching The Idol :
“Honestly, I’ve never felt more respected and safer on set. We’ve built a lot of trust in each other. Sam and me, Abel and me. It’s created a really safe environment. So in As for the nudity and the risky nature of the role, it was really intentional! It was actually very important to me and I was excited to do it. I’m not afraid of it. I think that we live in a highly sexualized world and that’s an interesting thing to explore in television…”
The Idol will end next week in France on Prime Video with the Warner pass.
