Netflix recovers the star of The Boys!

Iconic face of one of Prime Video’s most popular series, Antony Starr is changing creameries. He will play a charismatic guru in Breakers.

After five seasons of reigning terror on Prime Video in The Boys (the final season of which will be broadcast in April), Antony Starr is preparing to leave the fold of Amazon… to go to the competition.

The indescribable Homelander, with his carnivorous gaze and his blood-curdling smile, will try to turn the page with a brand new Netflix series: Breakers, a project signed by the creator of Somewhere Boy and supported by the production company behind My Little Reindeer.

Breakers follows two American best friends who go on a backpacking road trip to Australia. There, they come across a seemingly perfect community of surfers… and let themselves be drawn in by its leader, Brando (Starr), a figure as charismatic as he is mysterious.

Antony Starr will therefore still play a form of charismatic and disturbing guru.

Production has already started in Western Australia and filming is due to wrap up in June. Special feature: Breakers becomes the very first Netflix series to be filmed in this region, a choice made easier by local tax incentives.

Writing, we find Pete Jackson (The Death of Bunny Munro, Somewhere Boy). Directed by Mary Nighy (Say Nothing, Industry) and Ng Choon Ping (What It Feels Like For A Girl, Femme).

No release date at the moment.
