The actor Jaalen Best (seen in All American: Homecoming) was chosen to play the role of the boxer in the casting.
“The incredible victories and defeats that made Ali a legend, both in and out of the ring, have been well documented, and these milestones will live on in The Greatest. The heart of the story is fueled by all the moments that happened outside the spotlight. The world remembers an icon, but The Greateast “It’s about a man, a husband, a father, a brother and a son” announces the production, which promises a very personal series about the man, more than about the champion.
Jay Z (via his company Roc Nation) and Michael B. Jordan will be among the producers.
