Nicky Larson crosses paths with Cat’s Eyes in Angel Dust (trailer)
The two cult mangas team up in the face of a dystopian revolution that transforms soldiers into machines.
No, it is not a film by Philippe Lacheau. An animated film, Nicky Larson is released 30 years after the end of the animated series. This event should delight fans of the 80s manga and fans of Club Dorothée. This time, the “boos” inflicted on the bad guys will hurt a lot.
Nicky and Laura investigate as a duo in the neon glow of the city of Tokyo. A beautiful stranger calls them to help her find her cat. The two acolytes accept the mission (for very different reasons). At the same time, a dystopian problem is playing out: the strange “Angel Dust” technology transforms soldiers into supermen. The iconic trio of thieves Cat’s Eyes are also there. The two investigations intend to intertwine in a battle that will guide the charming detective to his past.
This is not the first time that the paths of these heroes of Japanese animation have crossed. The trio of thieves had already met Nicky Larson in Nicky Larson: Private Eyes.
The silliness of the investigator, as skillful as he is flirtatious, is captured in this feature film, inspired by the manga by Tsukasa Hojo. The project respects the codes of the original universe, explosive chases, ribald comedy and the emblematic club will be featured!
Nicky Larson: City Hunter – Angel Dust will be released in cinemas in France January 24, 2024.
