Nicolas Cage becomes John Madden: a first stunning image

Amazon MGM Studios has just unveiled a first striking image of the film Madden. A bluffing clicking putting Nicolas Cage in the shoes of the American football icon John Maddenwhile Christian Bale embodies the legendary owner of the raiders, Al Davis. A face-to-face of Oscaries to trace the story of a US sport monument.

The film will tell the incredible trajectory of John Madden: promising player whose career is prematurely stopped because of an injury, it becomes one of the most striking coaches in the NFL, leading the Oakland raiders for ten consecutive seasons and a title in Super Bowl XI. In 1978, at only 42, he retired… after 100 victories on the clock.

But it was only the beginning of the legend Madden : As early as 1979, the coach became an essential figure of television as a sports commentator. And in the 80s, its name became synonymous with video games with the creation of the legendary John Madden Footballancestor of the franchise Madden NFL from EA SPORTS, world bestseller.

On the first revealed image, Cage and Bale appear in a stadium, sporting their superb champions rings.

Disappeared in December 2021 at 85, John Madden marked several generations. Al Davis, his faithful ally and friend, died in 2011. The film promises to explore not only their friendship, but also the way in which they redefined the NFL.

In the casting, we will also find John Mulaney in the role of Hawkins tripthe visionary creator of Electronic Arts, Kathryn Hahn in Virginia MaddenAnd Sienna Miller in Carol Davis.

No release date yet. The film is expected to land on the streaming video premium in France.
