One Battle After Another is the best movie Jennifer Lawrence has ever seen!

“I don’t remember a single time I’ve had an experience like that at the cinema…”

It’s undeniably one of the biggest films of 2025. Certainly the future Oscar favorite.

And it’s not Jennifer Lawrence who will say the opposite! The actress praises today One battle after anotherthe Paul Thomas Anderson film, which she bluntly describes in a recent interview as “the best film I have ever seen”.

In the latest episode of “BAFTA Playback”, the actress talks about her favorite films. Presenting an extract where Leonardo DiCaprio, on the line of a telephone booth, tries to remember a password for the “meeting point”, Lawrence blurts out:

“It’s the best movie I’ve ever seen. It’s one battle after another.”

She adds: “I can’t remember a single time I’ve had an experience like that at the cinema, and it being shared.”

When the screening ended, she says, “Everyone applauded. I kept thanking my husband over and over again because he had booked the tickets two weeks in advance. All I could say was: thank you for this experience.”

Anderson’s new film follows an ex-revolutionary (DiCaprio) forced back into violence when a corrupt officer (Sean Penn) begins stalking his daughter (Chase Infiniti) and himself. A 2h42 film, hailed by critics and already announced as a serious contender for the Oscars.

Lawrence almost begs: “You have to see it in theaters. The pace is impossible to keep up. There’s never a minute too long, it never drags.”

She adds that Anderson “has so many characters in him, all so visceral, so real… everything is alive, we are in it. Each character, you know them, you see them.”

And she reserves a special tribute to the actors — “Leo, obviously, but then Sean Penn… my God!”

An opinion which should be widely found in the Oscars list in a few months.
