Oscars 2024: Oppenheimer dominates the nominations, a hit for Anatomy of a Fall

Christopher Nolan’s film appears in 13 categories, and that of Justine Triet in 5, including best film.

The selection for the 96th Academy Awards has just been released. It is Oppenheimer which is a favorite with no less than 13 mentions, notably in the main categories: best film, direction for Christopher Nolan, main actor for Cillian Murphy and actors in a supporting role for Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt.

Its big competitor of the summer, barbie, has for his part been nominated 8 times (including two songs) but, surprise! Margot Robbie is not in the running for best actress. Greta Gerwig is not mentioned for her direction either, even if she is mentioned for her screenplay, co-written with her companion Noah Baumbach. The actors America Ferrera and Ryan Gosling are also present among the supporting roles.

No French film is among the best foreign language works, The Passion of Dodin Bouffant not having been selected. However, Anatomy of a fallby Justine Triet, is in the running for the Oscars for best film, best direction, best actress (Sandra Hüller), best original screenplay (Arthur Harari and Justine Triet) and best editing (Laurent Sénéchal).
