Paddington returns to the cinema: an inventive and touching family film, not to be missed

Ten years ago, Première had fallen completely under the spell of the bear and his adoptive family.

Paddington returns to theaters this week, almost 10 years after its initial release: the film by Paul Kingwith the voice of Guillaume Gallienne in French, arrived at our place a little before Christmas 2014. And it was love at first sight!

If his The sequel is even more successfulnotably thanks to Hugh Grant as a hilarious big baddie, and which we are expecting at the beginning of next year No. 3with some changes within the team, this first Paddington is not to be missed if it is playing near you this summer, it is so full of inventiveness.

Synopsis: Paddington tells the story of a young Peruvian bear who has just arrived in London, looking for a home and a better life. He soon realizes that the city of his dreams is not as welcoming as he thought. By chance, he meets the Brown family and gradually becomes a full-fledged member. Following in the footsteps of ET, Paddington illustrates the universal story of an outsider trying to make his place in the world, an entertainment for the whole family…

The opinion of First :

Just like at the beginning of Lady and the Tramp, Lady is not supposed to sleep on her masters’ bed “just for one night” The Browns have only planned to put Paddington up for one night. Of course, he will extend his stay, despite the disasters he keeps causing, starting with a memorable flood.

To describe the orderly daily life of the family that the bear puts in danger, the director draws on the style of Wes Anderson : cutaways, dollhouses, ordered objects, music inspired by that ofAlexandre Desplat… A charming frame of reference, notably enhanced by the borrowing from the Farrelly brothers of an orchestra which punctuates the adventures of the small clan, as in Mary at all cost.

Paul King has taste, but also a sense of rhythm. This explains why we don’t get bored for a second watching his film, and even more why he manages to end it with one of the most gripping suspense scenes of the year.
