Paper Tiger by James Gray in competition: Cannes 2026 completes its official selection

Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver will be on the Croisette. New films by Judith Godrèche, Christophe Honoré, Géraldine Nakache and Laetitia Masson too.

As expected, the Cannes Film Festival has announced the complement of its official selection. As expected, American director James Gray will be back in competition with Paper Tigerwhich stars Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller. It’s the big Hollywood name that was missing in the race for the Palme d’Or, which a priori will no longer move.

Many other works have been added, with regulars on the Croisette, quite a few female directors and first films. And a lot of French. Judith Godrèche will defend Girl’s memoryadapted from the novel by Annie Ernaux, in Un Certain Regard, which will be closed by Ulysses by Laetitia Masson. Christophe Honoré will present Orange flavored wedding at Cannes Première, just like Géraldine Nakache with If you think wellher fourth feature film as director.

Cannes 2026 also includes five additional titles in Special Screening, as well as an animated film, Lucy Lost by Olivier Clert, in Family Session.
