Punisher: a new bearded look for Jon Bernthal on the set of the Marvel series

While filming is currently taking place in New York, the brutal hero of the MCU has a new style.

The Punisher is getting a facelift. Images taken on the set of a special Marvel episode (still without title) reveal the new look of Jon Bernthal in the skin of the anti-hero.

Beard supplied, unprecedented outfit: Frank Castle returns darker than ever. This special project was born during the production of the Daredevil series: Born Again for Disney+. Bernthal already made a remarkable appearance in the skin of the cursed vigilante. And this cliché (below) was published in Story Instagram by photographer Steve Sands. We see Frank Castle with a thick beard and a reworked, more tactical and worn suit – a reflection of an ever more radical Punisher.

This special is not a simple order: Jon Bernthal co -wrote the scenario alongside Reinaldo Marcus Green, who also ensures its realization. The filmmaker, praised for King Richard (2021) and Bob Marley: One Love (2024), also shone on television with We Own This City, HBO mini-series on police corruption in Baltimore.

If the intrigue of the project remains for the moment secret, we already know that Jason R. Moore will resume his role as Curtis and that Roe Rancell is also in the casting.

The shooting is currently hosting the streets of New York.

Recall that Punisher had made his debut in season 2 of Daredevil, broadcast on Netflix in 2016, before being entitled to his own derivative series (The Punisher, two seasons between 2017 and 2019). After a six-year break, Jon Bernthal made a highly anticipated return to Daredevil: Born Again, broadcast in 2025. And the future promises to be loaded: in addition to this special planned for 2026 on Disney+, it is also announced in the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, alongside Tom Holland (Peter Parker), Michael Mando (Scorpion) and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk).
