Ricky Gervais is preparing an animation series … with cats that gland

Alley Cats will be released on Netflix.

For the first time since After Life (2019-2022), Ricky Gervais is back as a TV series creator.

The British humorist joins Netflix again to develop Alley Cats. And this time, it will be an animated series for adults. It will be released in 2026. And we can already imagine how trashy it may be!

Imagined by Ricky Gervais (original creator of The Office, it must be remembered), the six episodes series is described as a Slacker Sitcom, understand a sitcom of endearing losers according to the tribulations of a group of wandering cats, glanders from all horizons of British society, in search of links while philosopher on daily life.

Gervais realizes and lends his voice to one of the felines, alongside many longtime accomplices like Tom Basden, Andrew Brooke, David Earl, Kerry Godliman, Jo Hartley and Diane Morgan, but also Natalie Cassidy and Tony Way.

The series is co-directed by Elliot Dear, with a signed animation of the award-winning British studio Blink Industries (Dead End: Paranormal Park, Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared).
