Roman Polanski's new film The Palace has a French release date

It will be in theaters next May.

It's been 5 years since the last film Roman Polansky is out. I accuse even won three Césars, including Best Director. The French filmmaker returns this year with The Palacepresented at the Venice Film Festival last September.

While Roman Polansky is still facing allegations of sexual assault, and a trial must begin, The Palace now has a French release date: the film will be in theaters on May 15, 2024 and will be distributed by Swashbuckler Films.

The owner of the company, Sébastien Tiveyrat, told Variety that he had not yet obtained the exhibition visa and that he had not yet started contacting exhibitors in France to reserve rooms. We do not yet know to what extent the film will be visible in the spring. More surprisingly, he also admits not having yet seen the feature film, but says he is convinced of the success of this release in France, where Polanski remains very popular. I accuse attracted 1.5 million spectators in theaters.

Filmed in Switzerland in 2022, the story of The Palace takes place in 1999, and follows wealthy clients spending New Year's Eve at the luxurious Gstaad Palace in the Swiss mountains. A game of social massacre in which we will come across Oliver Masucci, Fanny Ardant, John Cleese or Mickey Rourke.

On social networks, the announcement of this release and the unveiling of the French poster for The Palace are already talking a lot:
