Ryan Murphy confirms he’s ready to restart Glee: “I finished the script!”

The creator has even already contacted “around ten former members of the cast to talk to them about it.”

The return of Glee is no longer a rumor.

He’s already taken it to the next level. Ryan Murphy has just announced that he has completed the script for a new chapter of the cult series, written with Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, the three men already at the helm of the first two seasons.

“I just finished the script an hour ago!” he told Entertainment Tonight last night on the red carpet for season 13 of American Horror Story. He then specifies:

“So we have a script. Brad, Ian and I wrote something. I contacted about ten former cast members to talk to them about it. It’s very touching. They had a lot of questions, but they were all very enthusiastic about the idea.”

The creator therefore does not start completely from scratch.

Lea Michele, who played Rachel Berry during all six seasons, also declared last week that she would be up for reprising her role.

But nothing has been officially launched yet. Murphy clarifies that no one has read the script yet:

“No one has read it. So, we’ll see… I promised myself I’d write a few to see what people think, especially the actors, because we were very close when we were making the show.”

Launched in 2009, Glee revealed or dedicated an entire generation of actors and singers, from Lea Michele to Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera, Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer and Heather Morris. The comeback therefore remains to be written.
