Season 3 of the formalized power rings, with a big jump in time
That’s it, Sauron will finally forge the unique ring in the third season of the rings of power, which turns in the spring … and in the studio.
Go hop, at work, at the mine, to the forge. The third season of the series The Lord of the Rings: the rings of power will officially turn this spring to Shepperton studios in England: in 2022, Amazon Prime passed a deal with them, to use them for its long, wide and cross productions.
About a third of season 1 had been shot in New Zealand, where the middle land was on Peter Jackson was, and season 2 had been shot in the Canaries for exteriors. For the moment, season 3 will therefore be confined to the walls of a (large) cinema studio, and the first episodes will be made by Charlotte Brändström (who has already worked on the series and on Shogun), Sanaa Hamri (The wheel of time), and Stefan Schwartz (The Boys))
But that’s not all: The Hollywood Reporter announces that season 3 will make a big jump (round) in time, according to the synopsis on which THR has gotten hands down exclusively:
Located years after the events of season 2, season 3 will take place at the peak of war between the Elves and Sauron, while the Lord of Darkness wants to forge the unique ring which will allow him to be victorious and finally conquer the whole land of the middle.
Well, it is not really a spoiler or a surprise: we know since the start that the series will know five seasons and will end on the defeat (provisional) of Sauron on the flanks of Mont du Destin. And maybe Alors Amazon will launch a reboot of Lord of the RingsTolkien’s novel, with new Aragorn or Frodon…
While waiting to know what will be the new faces to the casting of the third season of Power ringsAndy Serkis prepares The Hunt for Gollumprequel of the Lord of the Rings (the film) where Aragorn and Gandalf track the villain Sméagol.
The shooting of season 3 of Power rings will start in spring. It will be broadcast in the 2026 on a video premium.
