Pruitt Taylor Vince joins the cast of James Gunn's film.
He will succeed Kevin Costner in the shoes of this cult character of US culture. Pruitt Taylor Vince joined the cast of the upcoming DC Universe and the film Superman by James Gunn, according to The Wrap. He will play the role of Jonathan Kent, aka Dad Kent, Clark's adoptive father, after he finds the Kryptonian baby crushed in the depths of Kansas.
At 63 years old, Pruitt Taylor Vince had a long acting career behind him, with his iconic shaved head and impressive build, we met him in Mississippi Burning (1988), JFK (1991), Identity (2003), Constantine (2005) and also in the series Mentalist (2008–2015) in which he played JJ Laroche.
He follows a long list of stars who have played dad Kent over the years, like Kevin Costner in the last films of the DC Extended Universe, until Jordan Elsass in the recent television series Superman & Lois or John Schneider In Smallville.
We don't yet know who will play Martha Kent opposite him, but he will be in the casting David Corenswet (Clark Kent) Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Maria Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner) and Milly Alcock (Supergirl).
