Tensions Rise in Rings of Power Season 2 (Trailer)
“War will break out in Middle-earth.”
Since its promotion, everything tends to confirm that season 2 of Rings of Power will be darker, like the darkness of its antagonist who gains in power. Gone is the wonder that accompanied the first season. From now on, Middle-earth is dark and finds itself on the edge of a war led on one side by the Dark Lord, Sauron (Charlie Vickers) seeking to dominate the region, and on the other by the united forces of Elves and Dwarves led by Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and Elrond (Robert Aramayo).
Forging the Rings of Power with the help of the Elves he tricks under the guise of Annatar, Sauron seems invincible in the latest teaser with an anxiety-provoking atmosphere that does not bode well for the future of Middle-earth…
While the previous trailer released at Comic-Con a few weeks ago focused more on the cyclical objects of Tolkien mythology, these new images foreshadow a war as violent and devastating as the people of Middle-earth have ever known: “War is going to break out.”
Sinister orcs, corpses on the ground, screams, flames and warriors worn out by fierce fighting, it would seem that nothing, not even the union of armies, can resist Sauron’s forces. Battles will be the common thread of this season 2, the climax of which is likely to be the fall of Eregion as suggested by the trailer – a legendary confrontation. Because, as Elrond confirms, if it were to fall, the entire war is lost, and the peoples of Middle-earth with it. On site, the Dark Lord seeks to recover the nine forged rings, but Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards) stands in his way. We also see the Elf find himself trapped in the enemy’s embrace… He will not be the only one to face him.
Previously an enemy, it seems that Adar, the Elf turned Orc and who led his people in the previous season his army on the Southern Lands in order to protect them from Sauron, but also from the Elves, has finally made the choice to join forces against those of Sauron. After all, the enemy of my enemy is my friend?
Available on Prime Video from August 29, season 2 of Rings of Power promises to be epic and above all terribly bloody. Unlike the second season of House of the Dragonwill the coming war really break out?
