The 2026 César ceremony exceptionally advanced to Thursday!
Canal + announces that it has changed the date of the great mass of French cinema. And for once, it will be in the middle of the week. But there is a good reason…
Change of program for French cinema: initially announced on Friday February 27, the 2026 César ceremony will finally be held on Thursday February 26.
A decided adjustment “exceptionally” to leave the field open for the Enfoirés show, a major charity event for the benefit of Restos du Cœur, broadcast the next day, Friday February 27 (on TF1). “In a spirit of complementarity and solidarity in favor of this emblematic program serving an essential cause“, Canal + and the Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques have decided to bring their evening forward by 24 hours.
Chaired by Camille Cottin and presented by Benjamin Lavernhe, surrounded by numerous artists, the 51st César ceremony will take place at the Olympia from 8:45 p.m. Jim Carrey will receive, on this occasion, an Honorary César.
It will be broadcast unencrypted and live on Canal +.
