The film ten percent will turn this year: “The writing is over!”
Fanny Herrero is back in control, with the whole original cast of the series.
5 years after the broadcast of season 4, the return of ten percent finally becomes clearer. Questioned by Deadline, Fanny Herrero, the co-creator of the series, gave news of the film project, which is more than in good way.
“I can just say that the writing is over. So now, yes, it’s on the way.”
According to Deadline, bringing together the cast was complicated for calendar reasons, the actors who were in great demand following the success of the France Télévisions series. But this time it is the right one, the schedules are aligned and the production of the film ten percent will start this year, with a potential release in 2026.
Camille Cottin, Thibault de Montalembert, Grégory Montel, Liliane Rovère, Fanny Sidney, Laure Calamy or Nicolas Maury should therefore be all there. And Fanny Herrero, who had left the series after season 3, is back in control:
“I am so happy to write again for them. They are so inspiring, I like them all. And the fact that I am part and that the last season was released almost 5 years ago … It’s too good to meet.”
Many announcements have been made since 2020 concerning the future of ten percent. A season 5 has notably been mentioned several times, including officially by Mediawan, but it would no longer be relevant according to Deadline.
In 2022, Nicolas Mercier, the showrunner who had succeeded Fanny Herrero, had told Variety that the film ten percent was going to send Andréa (Camille Cottin) to New York. A track that also seems to be obsolete.
Will this return of ten percent be played at the cinema? So far it has been presented as a project designed for television, which Liliane Rovère also said to our colleagues from Allociné a few months ago:
“Yes there will be a film or rather a unitary, a term that I hate. It is not a series, it’s like a more busy episode. There will be a shoot, I think in October – November, somewhere there. I like what they wrote. So there will be a little bit of ten percent, and I think it’s expected!”
After his departure from ten percent for creative reasons, Fanny Herrero created the funny series, taking place in the world of stand up, for Netflix. Unfortunately, it was canceled after a single season.
