Forgotten Island will be released in theaters in the fall.
Like Pixar, the Dreamworks Animation studio alternates original films and sequels. The studio presents its new animated feature film in a bright and colorful trailer, which tells the story of a precious friendship between girlfriends. Two long-time friends meet one last time before being swept away by the whirlwind of life inThe Forgotten Island.
Writing and directing include Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado (Puss in Boots 2) as well as Mark Swift on production.
The synopsis: “While celebrating their last evening together, the two young girls come across a mysterious portal which transports them to the fantastical island of Nakali, populated by magical creatures straight out of the Filipino mythological tales of their childhood. Together the girls will ally themselves with some of them, while they will have to face others. With the help of Raww (Dave Franco), a weredog as well-intentioned as he is unlucky, as well as a clique of tiny companions endowed with extraordinary powers, the two best friends will face the formidable Manananggal (Lea Salonga), the most feared creature on the entire island. But when they discover that to find their way home they will have to forget everything they have experienced together, Jo and Raissa will embark on a race against time to find a way to leave this island before it devours the memories of their friendship forever..”
