The new George Clooney takes us back to the Berlin Olympics: trailer
The Boys in the Boat will be inspired by a true story of America’s young heroes who won gold medals in rowing.
Joel Edgerton And Callum Turner are in a boat. Nobody falls into the water. And it is this beautiful story that George Clooney will tell in his next film. The director of Confessions of a Dangerous Man And Good Night and Good Luck will tell us a new moving true story. And as with Jeux de dupes (his third film), it will take place in the world of sport and the interwar period.
The Boys in the Boat will be an adaptation of the book by Daniel James Brown and will tell the triumphant story of the University of Washington men’s rowing team, which stunned the world by winning gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, by nose and under Hitler’s beard.
This small story in a big one will follow a group of young people at rock bottom, at the height of the Great Depression, as they are thrust into the spotlight and compete against the elite of international sport. And so… they will win!
The Boys in the Boat will be released on January 12 in the United States. No date in France at the moment.
