The only regret of the creators of Game of Thrones (isn’t the one you think)
David Benioff and Dan Weiss have fun and “troll” the fans…
No, nothing nothing… no they regret nothing! David Benioff and Dan Weiss, the creators of Game Of Thrones – who are preparing their return to the small screen with The Three-Body Problem – are at the origin of one of the greatest television disappointments of all time. The ending of the HBO series was clearly not up to par. The last two seasons have – at the very least – disconcerted all spectators. But they take charge until the end. Except for one plot…
“One thing I know I wish I could have done is bring back the character of Mord the Jailer. It was a mistake not to bring back Mord the Jailer“, laugh the two creators in The Hollywood Reporter, in reference to this anecdotal character, awful guardian of the celestial cells of the Eyrié (played by Ciaran Bermingham) who monitors Tyrion Lannister in season 1.
“We always talked about the idea of bringing him back…” insist Weiss and Benioff, evading the scripting problems surrounding Daenerys, for example: “There’s a scene that takes place in a tavern… But we realized too late that Mord could have been the owner (Tyrion gives him a bag of gold coins after his release, Editor’s note). We could have had this actor in the background acting exactly like he did as the jailer, except now he’s the owner of his own small business. It was such an obvious idea….”
It’s clear, the bosses of Game Of Thrones have no intention of denying what they have done. They rather want to turn the page. And they didn’t even look House of the Dragon…
