Shadow and Bone canceled: casting stars devastated
“Thank you for watching the Grishaverse,” writes Jessie Mei Li.
It’s not just the fans who have had a hard time with the sudden cessation of Shadow and Bonecanceled by Netflix this week, before season 3 and without conclusion.
Jessie Mei Liaka Alina Starkov, posted footage from her audition test in 2019, writing: “Shadow and Bone has ended. My first big acting job. I will never forget him. I am now off to exciting new horizons with friends for life! Thanks for watching the Grishaverse.”
For his part, Archie Renaux (Mal) confides having “loved working on the show and loved working with everyone involved. It was a truly special moment in my life. Sorry to all our writers for not being able to share the next chapter of the story”.

Ben Barnesaka General Kirigan aka The Darkling has difficulty digesting this announcement and on Instagram, he writes that “itThis part of the journey is sad, but I’m so proud to have been part of it.”
Finally, he is the author of the novels, Leigh Bardugowhich is most difficult to absorb:
“The news hit me hard. I am heartbroken and deeply disappointed“, he writes, confirming in passing that the “Grishaverse” will not be developed further on Netflix and that the spin-off series, Six of Crowsin development for some time, is also canceled.
