The premiere of Dune 2 was held yesterday in Paris, and the first reviews are in

The stars of the film, including Timothée Chalamet and Zendya, and director Denis Villeneuve were present.

Two weeks before the French release of Dune: part two, on February 28, the promotion of the most anticipated blockbuster of the year reaches its climax. After Mexico last week, Paris hosted the film’s premiere at the Grand Rex this Monday, February 12, three days before London.

Not all the stars were present, but there were still some great people there, with Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Austin Butler, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Léa Seydoux, Stellan Skarsgard and Souheila Yacoub. Without forgetting the filmmaker Denis Villeneuveaccompanied by his wife, director Tanya Lapointe.

The atmosphere was relaxed on the red carpet, where fans were able to see the complicity and availability of the cast who took the time to sign autographs.

Denis Villeneuve went on stage to receive a standing ovation from the spectators and express his thanks to the audience (“you were very patient, that means a lot to me“), but also to his sister, who was in charge of managing Covid on the set of Dune 2as well as the playwright Wajdi Mouawad, present in the room, whose play Villeneuve adapted Fires At the movie theater.

This French premiere also coincided with the lifting of the embargo for social networks. The first reviews are in, and they are rave for this Dune: part two.

We come away blown away by the grandeur and epicness of the film (…) Blockbusters like that I want to eat them every day

Bigger, more epic, more intimate… Denis Villeneuve gives us a second opus which elevates the DUNE saga to the rank of the best modern sci-fi blockbusters

Denis Villeneuve’s promises were kept (…) The stakes are much higher than the first film. It’s an experience to live at the cinema, what a blast for 2h40

This film stands head and shoulders above 95% of Hollywood production (…) Denis, thank you
