The Thing from Marvel’s Fantastic Four will be filmed in motion capture
It is Ebon Moss-Bachrach, the actor who will play Ben Grimm, who confirms this.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach will play Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, in the next Marvel Studios film, Fantastic Four. But we shouldn’t see much of the actor’s face The Bear on the screen !
At Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, Moss-Bachrach confirmed that for him, the filming will mainly be motion capture:
“In the past, I think they did a costume. Michael Chiklis (in the 2005 and 2007 films) wore a costume that was apparently very uncomfortable… We’re past that, I think. It’s kind of sort of cosplay, a little amateurish, that sort of thing now, with the technology that we have. So yeah, I think it’ll be mostly motion capture. I’ll shoot motion capture, performance capture and that sort of thing. things…”
Remember that he will meet Pedro Pascal who will be Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, while Vanessa Kirby will play Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman and Joseph Quinn will be Johnny Storm.
Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 6 Project, Fantastic Four is due out in theaters on July 25, 2025.
