Throughout the summer of 2023, MUBI pays tribute to Robert De Niro, on his 80th birthday
Mean Streets, Once Upon a Time in America and Brazil are available, then La Valse des puppets and Heat will arrive in August.
Since June MUBI has been offering a special cycle in homage to Robert DeNiro. The American comedian will be in the spotlight all summer, on the occasion of his 80th birthday, which he will celebrate precisely on August 17th.
Several films are already visible on the platform. For example Ronin (1998) by John Frankenheimer, raging bull (1980) by Martin Scorsese and MeanStreets, by the same filmmaker. This marks their first collaboration, in 1973.

Once upon a time in Americathe historical fresco by Sergio Leone released in cinemas a decade later, in 1984, is also visible, as is Brazil (1985), by Terry Gilliam.
On the other hand, The waltz of the puppets (again directed by Scorsese, in 1983) and Heat by Michael Mann, in which he replied to Al Pacino, in 1995, will be scheduled on August 17 and 25.
This enticing selection prepares the public for the reunion between the actor and the New York filmmaker, who also recently celebrated his 80th birthday: from October 18, Robert De Niro will be back at the cinema in Killers of the Flower Moon, his 10th collaboration with Martin Scorsese. Screened out of competition at Cannes, this film caused a sensation. Here is its trailer:
