Urchin: the striking trailer for Harris Dickinson’s first film

Revealed to the general public with Without Filter (Palme d’Or 2022) and recently seen alongside Nicole Kidman in the erotic thriller BabygirlHarris Dickinson, the successful British actor, moves into directing with his first feature film, Urchinbefore playing John Lennon in the four-part mega biopic of Sam Mendes, which began filming last November. For his debut behind the camera, he signs a psychological intrigue with social overtones.

Noted at the last Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes, where Frank Dillane won the Best Actor award. Urchin is one of the films to watch at the start of the year. The actor-director features a homeless man who tries to reintegrate despite his psychological problems. The electric trailer does not fail to transport us into the trajectory of this raw outsider.

While Frank Dillane plays the lead role, Mike, Harris Dickinson himself is in the cast with a supporting role, Nathan. We also find the Franco-British actress Megan Northam (nominated for the César for best female revelation in 2024 for Rabia) who plays Andrea.

Synopsis: In London, Mike lives on the streets, going from odd jobs to petty thefts, until the day he is imprisoned. Upon his release from prison, helped by social services, he tries to get his life back in hand by fighting his old demons.
