Wake up dead man: a well-sharpened trailer for the new a knives drawn
Rian Johnson’s new Mystery Mystery is revealed a little more after his first at the Toronto Festival.
Benoit Blanc’s third survey will only release Netflix in three months, but some lucky people were able to discover it this weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival. A first rich in stars, like the XXL casting gathered around Daniel Craig, with Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Josh Brolin or Cailee Spaeny on the red carpet.
This presentation at Tiff augurs well, even very good for Wake up dead man: a story with pulled knives. Rian Johnson’s new Mystery Mystery has further appealed to criticism, with 96% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s better than the previous part, Glass onion (91%), and almost as well as the first, A knife pulled (97%), released at the time at Lionsgate before Netflix was hand over the franchise. The performance of Josh O’Connor (Challengers), in the role of the young priest, seems in particular to be unanimous.
The streaming platform therefore took advantage of the event to unveil a first real trailer for the film, after the short teaser posted in June. Benoit Blanc, still camped by Daniel Craig, laid the basics of the plot: the “murder disguised as a miracle“From an influential Monsignor who took place in a Catholic parish. Who is the culprit? What is his mobile? Our favorite detective will of course answer these traditional questions while strutting in impeccable costumes.
Wake up dead man will benefit from an exclusive cinema outing in the United States on November 26. In France, chronology of the media obliges, it will be necessary to wait until it arrived on Netflix, on December 12, to discover it.
