We know the official duration of Avatar 3, it will indeed be the longest film in the saga
James Cameron warned us.
It’s confirmed, Avatar: Fire and Ash will be the longest film in James Cameron’s SF saga. We already knew that it would exceed 3 hours, and we now know its official duration. Prepare to spend 3 hours 15 minutes on Pandora. It’s 33 minutes more than the first Avatar (2h42), and 3 minutes more than The Voice of Water (3h12).
Cameron announced the color last month by explaining in particular that he had added a scene with the return of the Toruk, the mythical creature that Jake Sully had tamed in the first film:
“I had saved that for later, and then I said to myself: Fuck! Too bad! He has to find his bird. There is something in his destiny that demands it. So we rewrote, shot two or three additional scenes… And the result: the film is now 3 hours long. No, it’s not a surprise! But it works magnificently “.
If you find it too long, know that the director doesn’t care. When leavingAvatar 2James Cameron had dismissed the journalists and spectators who complained:
“I don’t want to hear someone complaining about the length while they sit down and binge-watch a series for eight hours. I could almost write this passage from the review: ‘The three-hour long film to die for‘. Honestly, leave me the fuck alone. I see my kids doing five one-hour episodes in a row. Here’s the big social paradigm shift that needs to happen: you can get up and go pee“.
The good news is that we have a month to train our bladder. Avatar 3 will be released in cinemas on December 17. Trailer:
