Will season 3 of Euphoria see the light of day?
“It will never happen,” assures an actor while Sydney Sweeney teases a “really crazy” season 3.
The TV series Euphoria keep on going.
If Sydney Sweeney announced a few days ago that she should soon begin filming season 3 ofEuphoriathe latter was in fact postponed announced HBO in a press release to Deadline, which also specified that actors were invited to accept any opportunities offered to them.
A setback which does not prevent the young actress from seeing the glass half full. Currently on the cover of the magazine Who What Wearshe is enthusiastic about the changes imagined by the creator of the series, Sam Levinsonto give it a second wind, the most drastic measure consisting of a time jump five years forward:
“I actually like it because it allows time for me, as a person, and Cassie, as a character, to grow.”
Sydney Sweeney gives news about season 3 of Euphoria
This is not the only way in which this new season frees itself from the first two. Indeed, Sam Levinson talks about modeling his plot on the tropes of “Dark movie”. “It’s going to be really crazy”comments Sydney Sweeney, who already predicted the astonishment of spectators last week.
However, the release ofEuphoria 3 in 2025 seems endangered by the delay accumulated by Sam Levinson, even if the bosses at HBO seem to want to maintain this course.
In addition to allowing the showrunner to refine the scenario, this extension will perhaps be seized as an opportunity for the main casting, which has seen the proposals multiply since the release of the first season ofEuphoria in 2019.
In the middle of the promotion of Challengers, Zendaya will soon reprise his role as MJ for the fourth installment of the Marvel saga Spiderman which she shares the poster with Tom Holland. Filming planned for September 2024? Rumor has it, and after that, we will probably have to prepare the third part of the saga Dune of Denis Villeneuve. His on-screen partner, Hunter Schaferis showing in Kinds of Kindness, which will be released this year in June. She will soon find Yorgos Lanthimos for his next film, Save the Green Planet!planned for 2026.
After Priscilla And Saltburn, Jacob Elordi will play the Frankenstein of Guillermo del Toroalso scheduled for 2025. As for Sydney Sweeney, she admits that after the promotion ofImmaculatecurrently in the cinema, she will not have time to fool around: next year, she will be showing inEdena thriller Ron Howard with Ana de Armas And Jude Law. And then there is the role of Barbarella for the remake of the 1968 film…
However, while these setbacks might help some, they are not to everyone's taste. Tuesday, the American media Daily Beast published the anonymous testimony of an actor from the flagship HBO series, who seems rather annoyed by these postponements:
“Since January 2022, we had set the date of March, which turned into June, then January. Afterwards, they continued to grow back month after month. For two years HBO has been assuring the actors that we will resume soon, and that we cannot accept other offers.
Before last week, I couldn't accept any television roles. Since they shelved the project, I can take any job, but the sad thing is that we were all on a roll when the show came out, but it's now been two years since we are waiting.”
Euphoria: the third season will be even darker
For him, it is clear: the third season will not be released in 2025. Nor ever, for that matter.
“As an actor, I will always be excited to work and get a role, so yes, I would be happy to come back. I just don’t think it’s going to happen.”
For him, the explanation is very simple and quite tragic: it is Kevin Turenproducer ofEuphoria (and of The Idol) disappeared last year, that we owed the success of the series. Will Sam Levinson be able to hit the mark without sound? partner in crime ?
